What is LCL and what is the LCL operation process?

What is LCL?
The two or more goods are assembled in one container, and they are also delivered separately at the destination container freight station or inland station.

LCL operation process
1. The shipper faxes the consignment note to the shipper. The contents must specify: SHIPPER, CONSIGNEE, NOTIFY PARTY, specific port of destination, number of pieces, gross weight, size, freight terms (prepaid, paid, third place payment), goods name , shipping date, other requirements such as fumigation, customs declaration, inspection and so on.

2. The shipper shall ship the ship in accordance with the requirements on the shipper's receipt and send a notice of the ship to the shipper. The ship's name will indicate the name of the ship, the bill of lading number, the shipping address, the contact number, the contact person, the latest delivery time, and the time of entry. It is also required that the shipper must deliver the goods according to the information provided and stock the goods before the latest delivery time.

3. The shipper carries out customs clearance of the goods to ensure that the goods can be shipped smoothly.

4. The shipper will fax the confirmation of the bill of lading to the shipper one day before shipment. Please ask the shipper to confirm the return before shipment. Otherwise, the bill of lading may be affected. After the ship is opened, the shipper issues a bill of lading within one working day after receiving the shipper's bill of lading confirmation, and settles the relevant fees.

5. After the goods are shipped, the client shall provide the agent information and the second-way pre-allocation information to the shipper. The shipper may contact the port of destination to clear the goods according to the relevant information.

LCL considerations
1. LCL can be divided into straight or reverse. Direct spelling means that the goods in the LCL container are loaded and unloaded at the same port. The goods are not unpacked before the goods arrive at the destination port, that is, the goods are the same port of discharge. Such LCL service has a short delivery period and is convenient and fast. Generally, a powerful LCL company will provide only such services.
Transferping refers to the goods in the container that are not at the same destination port. It is necessary to unpack and unload or transfer the ship in the middle. Due to factors such as different destinations and long waiting times, such goods have a long service period and even high freight rates.

2, LCL goods generally can not accept the designation of a specific shipping company, the shipping company only accepts the booking of the whole box of goods, and does not directly accept the booking of LCL goods, only through the freight forwarder to consolidate the LCL goods before the ship The company booked, "centralized work, centralized distribution."

3. When negotiating the transaction with the customer, special attention should be paid to the relevant transportation terms, so as to prevent the other party's letter of credit from being found and unable to meet the transportation terms. In daily operation, we often encounter L/C regulations. LCL cargo transportation does not accept the bill of lading of the freight forwarder. Since the shipping company does not directly accept the booking of LCL cargo, the shipping company’s ocean bill of lading is issued to the freight forwarder, and Issue HOUSEB/L to the consignor. If the L/C regulation does not accept the freight forwarding B/L, then there is no space for the actual transportation processing, which will result in L/C discrepancies.

4. Billing tons of LCL goods strive to be accurate. Before the delivery of LCL goods, the factory should be required to measure the weight and size of the goods as accurately as possible. When the goods are delivered to the designated warehouse for storage, the warehouse will generally re-measure and will be charged with the re-measured size and weight. standard.
In case of factory change of packaging, the factory should be required to notify in time, do not wait until the goods are delivered to the freight forwarding warehouse, feedback back through the freight forwarding, often time is very tight, then change the customs declaration, it is easy to delay customs declaration, or generate expedited customs declaration fees And the port charges and so on.

5. In some ports, due to insufficient LCL supply and high cost, the freight forwarding company specializing in LCL adopts the minimum charging standard for goods with less cargo volume. If the minimum is 2 freight tonnage, that is, less than 2 freight tonnage. Always charge at 2 shipping tons. Therefore, for goods with a small cargo volume and a relatively biased port, we must consider some of these factors in order to avoid passiveness in the future.

6. For some routes and ports are relatively remote, and the customer proposes LCL goods to be delivered to the inland point. It is best to consult before signing the contract to confirm that the shipping company and the freight forwarding company can handle these remote ports and inland points. Sign the contract after delivery and related expenses.

7. Local Customs will focus on the inspection of sensitive and trademark-protected goods. For goods involving intellectual property rights, the “Intellectual Property Declaration Form” should be completed in advance, with or without the brand, whether it is the trademark registered by the company or the factory, or the customer's license. The relevant registered trademark information should be prepared in advance. Or the customer's authorization.

Common causes and preventive measures for the loss of lock-up charges in LCL
(1), the owner of the goods is too late to enter the warehouse or temporarily cancel the shipment of the booking person but did not cancel the booking in time.
Precaution: All freight forwarders should regularly communicate with the cargo owner before the customs clearance date, and promptly feedback the information. And inform the owner that he is responsible for the notice, otherwise there will be a loss of the cabin fee.

(2), a large proportion of super square / shrinkage / overweight.
Precaution: All freight forwarders are required to request the owner's booking order to be as consistent as possible with the actual goods, and notify them in case of any changes.

(3) After the goods are put into the warehouse, the characteristics or specifications of the goods are found to be unacceptable, such as "liquid / dangerous goods / oversized and overweight parts".
Precaution: Please inform the cargo owner that the company does not accept liquid/dangerous goods/semi-dangerous goods. Super large and heavy parts must be confirmed in advance.

(4) The customs inspection failed to deliver in time.
Precaution: All freight forwarders are required to declare the goods to be consistent, the documents are consistent, and the single goods are consistent. If there is any doubt, the customs should cooperate with the customs declaration to promptly and clearly reply to the customs. What requirements does the customs have to cooperate as much as possible to ensure the timely delivery of the goods? .
